Accessibility Policy

The Texas Pension Review Board (PRB) is committed to making its website accessible to all users. The PRB uses the criteria set forth by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) in the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1, Level AA and the standards in 1 Texas Administrative Code Section 206.50 to test and ensure accessibility of the PRB website.

In order to meet this commitment, the PRB works diligently to incorporate several features that are designed to improve accessibility for users with disabilities. Some of these features are described below:

  • Functional images and other non-text elements on the site contain “alt text” with descriptive text equivalents, which aid users who listen to the contents of the site by using screen reading software.
  • Transcripts or captions accompany audio and video clips.
  • Routine site testing with automated and manual web accessibility tools to ensure the functionality of PRB efforts.
  • Using hypertext links that make sense when read out of context rather than using broad language such as “click here.”
  • Site designed to ensure that all content is distinguishable and all functionality available by mouse is also available by keyboard.

The PRB is currently working to ensure that our older webpages and applications are also made accessible. If visitors who use assistive technology are unable to access information on our website due to the format of any material, please contact the PRB accessibility coordinator through our Contact Page or by calling (512) 463-1736 and the PRB will attempt to provide an alternative method to access the information. To enable the PRB to respond effectively, please indicate:

  • the nature of the accessibility problem
  • the preferred format in which to receive the material
  • the web address of the requested material
  • your contact information
