John Goodell previously served as General Counsel for the Texas Veterans Commission. Prior to joining Texas government, he spent 14 years as an active duty Judge Advocate, and his recent assignments include legal advisor to Special Operations in Afghanistan and Chief of Client Services at Fort Hood, Texas. John also taught retirement, tax, and estate planning at the Judge Advocate General’s School in Charlottesville, Virginia. In his work as a law professor, he advised Congress on creating and implementing the Blended Retirement System. John is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and the University of Wisconsin Law School.
